Scottish Ledmore Marble
See this marble on a fireplace:
This marble was quarried as recently as the 1990s but unfortunately the economics did not work out, as is so often the case, and the quarry was sold. It is now used to produce agricultural lime. This is the only British marble available as far as we know. It is very similar in colour to the marbles from Skye and Iona, which are all on the same tectonic faultline on the Scottish west coast.
